This GE Merlin Sediment Prefilter (1266690) is a replacement sediment filter used with the GE Merlin Reverse Osmosis System.

The GE 1266690 RO sediment water filter reduces sediment, dirt, sand, rust, and other impurities from your water. This RO filter does not filter chlorine - for that you should use the GE Merlin carbon prefilter (1237460). The GE Merlin carbon prefilter must be used before the GE Merlin RO Membrane (1238342) if your water contains chlorine due to the fact that chlorine corrodes RO membranes.

This GE sediment filter is optional and is not required for the GE Merlin RO System. The GE 1266690 sediment filter has a filter life of about 6 months.
